- akpwnz, on 08/01/2008, -0/+11Oh man you went there!
- charlieville, on 08/01/2008, -3/+24This is a brilliant idea. Why did I not think of this?
- DeathWish808, on 08/01/2008, -0/+15Keyword is brilliant......lol.
- thatsmyaibo, on 08/02/2008, -0/+10Because somebody else did...years ago. Caffeine products like this have been on thinkgeek.com for years now. I'm surprised this is a front pager.
- cheezintern, on 08/02/2008, -4/+4...many years ago. Buried...
- ElTomacco, on 08/02/2008, -0/+10Maybe because you're too smart to dream up something this retarded. 200mg is 4.5 servings when taken orally. Your skin will only absorb a small percentage of it. I'd wager you'd probably get more caffeine in your system by taking a small sip of Pepsi.
- Tyrghast, on 08/02/2008, -2/+1Caffeine isn't good for you...
- splorpdotorg, on 08/02/2008, -0/+2LIES!!!

- Cancerkitty, on 08/01/2008, -2/+51I think I'll just stick with coffee.
- aaaleman, on 08/02/2008, -0/+13But in this case you can have your soap and eat it too.
- mountvale, on 08/02/2008, -0/+5I invented the caffeine enema, for that real "get up and go" in the mornings.
Still looking for a distributor.- EtherGnat, on 08/02/2008, -0/+2The caffeine enema has been around since World War I in Germany.
- TVarmy, on 08/02/2008, -0/+1People have been taking coffee that way since, like, the dawn of time. It's kinda gross, but I hear it gets you a decent amount of caffeine. Kinda like how suppositories work better for some things...
- p3ngwin, on 08/02/2008, -0/+1WW1 in Germany you say?
so it isn't a stick they have crammed up there after all?
- TVarmy, on 08/02/2008, -1/+1200 mg in an entire bar of soap isn't that much in my book. My morning coffee consists of two espresso shots (about 75 mg a piece) with a bit of skim milk. That is about 150 mg before I hit the shower, and then I follow that with a second glass of the same thing if I still feel groggy (300 mg). When I get home from work, I down yet another one of those coffees. I may be a heavy user, but the price is right and it doesn't leave me tweaking in the corner.
- splorpdotorg, on 08/02/2008, -0/+1When I was in high school (long, long ago), I once drank 3 cans of the original Jolt Cola ( "All the caffeine and twice the sugar!" -72mg caffeine per 12 ounce can) and then promptly fell asleep.

- GetSmartGal, on 08/01/2008, -0/+25Two birds one stone gotta love it! there is also the caffeinated ab slimming soap in this article but they said the results are doubtful...bummer, that would have bumped me up to three birds.
- Crackerpat, on 08/01/2008, -1/+22I think that I would be licking the soap all the time.
- AmyVernon, on 08/01/2008, -0/+12you worry me, Pat.
- louiebaur, on 08/01/2008, -0/+3You should be worried that guy is dirty!
- Shawn4168, on 08/02/2008, -0/+5At least it would keep you from saying swear words.

- MacBookForMe, on 08/01/2008, -2/+16Nothing could replace my morning coffee, but would love to try this soap, as well:)
- piglet1350, on 08/02/2008, -0/+1available at thinkgeek.com, along with other strange caffeinated things
- Mathieugothax, on 08/01/2008, -0/+15I was already waking up nicely with a hot shower, but I like the idea of caffeinated soap bars.
- AmyVernon, on 08/01/2008, -1/+29imagine, though, if you took a shower at night and used the soap. hello, 3 a.m.!
- theyellowfellow, on 08/02/2008, -0/+3that's when you switch to the nightcap-infused soap.
- stinkingfish, on 08/02/2008, -0/+3ambien soap bath bubbles? HELL YEAH!
- notque, on 08/01/2008, -0/+15Caffeine, helping people who rent themselves cope with being understaffed!
- sogeshirts, on 08/01/2008, -1/+10Clean and energized I like it.
- kokoshka, on 08/01/2008, -0/+50So does it work? Probably not.
http://www.erowid.org/ask/ask.php?ID=3010- kelmaster1, on 08/02/2008, -0/+6I always ask erowid first!
- stinkingfish, on 08/02/2008, -1/+3it knows all.
- mountvale, on 08/02/2008, -0/+4But the people that lick you, they'd get a dose, right?
- Noodleson, on 08/02/2008, -1/+4What doesn't erowid know?
- Halsfield, on 08/02/2008, -4/+1how to keep people from making false statements and posting false trip reports.
- Halsfield, on 08/02/2008, -1/+1you can digg me down, but it doesnt make it not true. go read their trip reports, so many are obviously made up by people that have never done drugs, especially the ones they're reporting on.
There are plenty of good reports, but when someone is allowed to read a report that someone did a huge dose of painkillers and didnt die, its possible for someone to think they can do the same. that kind of stuff needs to be gone through and removed when they're found to be overstating safe dosages , etc. erowid's staff is trying, but they havent gotten all or even most.
I go to erowid all the time and it has a lot of good info, but you need to take everything with a grain of salt, especially the user-submitted stuff.
- kelmaster1, on 08/02/2008, -0/+6I always ask erowid first!
- agentb111, on 08/01/2008, -1/+41this will go great with my menthol cigarette face wash
- pinab, on 08/02/2008, -0/+1Newport Pleasure! Soap
- Eavesdropping, on 08/01/2008, -0/+9If they create a tequila 'flavor', I'll have to have weekday and weekend soap.
- YME1280, on 08/01/2008, -0/+8That is the last thing I need. But a great idea nonetheless.
- ironeus, on 08/01/2008, -1/+9on the same theme -- how about Flintstones vitamin soap bar for kids? Centrum soap for adults; get all your recommended nutrients in the shower.
- Treafrog, on 08/02/2008, -0/+0That is a great idea. Put it in to motion and make millions... or thousands if it is a scam.
either way you win
- Treafrog, on 08/02/2008, -0/+0That is a great idea. Put it in to motion and make millions... or thousands if it is a scam.
- videoclipsmiami, on 08/01/2008, -0/+5Great idea! But the folks at the cafeteria would miss me every morning, I think.
- jcorn1, on 08/01/2008, -0/+1Next, there will be caffeine patches or do they already have those?
- dhughes, on 08/02/2008, -0/+7> 4.5 servings per 1.5 oz. bar
I don't eat soap.- SammyStephens, on 08/02/2008, -2/+1i do
- bullox, on 08/02/2008, -0/+6It's for when you have a sassy mouth.
- prometheanspark, on 08/02/2008, -0/+3Not to mention those 'servings' are the amount one would get in a cup of coffee, now I imagine the amount that would soak in would be considerably less than if you ate it, and there's only 4.5 servings (does the bar only last 4.5 showers?), so you'd probably get very little...
- SammyStephens, on 08/02/2008, -1/+5i tried it once
they smell like peppermint and i don't recall whether they worked or not
i ended up eating them because they smelled so delicious- dext3r, on 08/02/2008, -0/+1were you also on mushrooms at the time?
- Pledio, on 08/02/2008, -8/+1Buried: Nerds don't take showers.
- rosekevin, on 08/02/2008, -0/+0now i want to fill up my bathtub with coffee.
- TH3W1R3D, on 08/02/2008, -5/+6Buried. This is a scam people. Caffeine is not very permeable through skin. This product does not work.
- D14BL0, on 08/02/2008, -1/+3It's not a scam. It *does* work. Just not effectively.
- TH3W1R3D, on 08/02/2008, -1/+2Your right. I highly recommend you buy some now!
- tidu, on 08/02/2008, -1/+2quick, someone call the Consumerist
- D14BL0, on 08/02/2008, -1/+3It's not a scam. It *does* work. Just not effectively.
- dudemoo22, on 08/02/2008, -2/+9I know this comment is super lame, but this is a couple of years old... maybe 3 or 4 years...
And, although it is a very cool idea, caffeine molecules are supposedly too large to be absorbed through the skin- mllawso, on 08/02/2008, -0/+2I bought some of this soap: it smells nice, and that's about it.
- whoomp123, on 08/02/2008, -2/+4caffeine is most effectively absorbed orally
- stinkingfish, on 08/02/2008, -0/+2best absorbed rectally, actually.
- D14BL0, on 08/02/2008, -2/+5I actually tried some of these from Think Geek a few years back. I have a pretty high caffeine tolerance, but I *did* notice a minor rush.
However, it doesn't absorb enough to really matter. If you want some caffeine in the shower, try the body wash.

This seems to work a lot better than the bar, from my experience.- dwninjungleland, on 08/02/2008, -0/+2Placeeeeebo. Effect?
- Borgcube636, on 08/02/2008, -0/+5I baked a Caffeine cake a few years ago. Just get a box of cake batter, and instead of using water, use an energy drink of your choice.
- D14BL0, on 08/02/2008, -0/+13I don't know about you, but something about a cake that tastes like Red Bull sounds disgusting.
- driftwood07, on 08/02/2008, -0/+2so how did it turn out?
- BenKenobi88, on 08/02/2008, -0/+2That's ***** up...it'd be better to just grind up some caffeine pills and put it in the mix...I've done it with jello before...it's horribly bitter but amazingly energized.
- druakara, on 08/02/2008, -0/+1http://www.waterjoe.com/
thinkgeek doesn't carry it any longer - however it's caffeinated water - I'd say it's a little better than using redbull or monster to make a cake.
I don't recommend making coffee with it though, the caffeine extract starts clogging your tubes...- morepinklemons, on 08/02/2008, -0/+1I have always been extremely disappointed at the fact that they decided to call it Water Joe instead of H2O Joe.
- fragmanlivith36, on 08/02/2008, -6/+11. Drink coffee in shower to save time
2. Spill it on soap
3. Use soap and feel jittery

- lordzelo, on 08/02/2008, -0/+4Good night, this is so old. I saw these things on ThinkGeek a few years ago. I'll digg it anyway cause caffeen is yummy.

- anchora, on 08/02/2008, -0/+1I should buy this for my roommate. That way he'll get addicted to showering, and not Mountain Dew. What's next, caffeine deoderant?

- shiftless, on 08/02/2008, -0/+1This stuff has been around for years. Don't use this stuff if you have any skin conditions!
- DrBeaverhausen, on 08/02/2008, -0/+3I can't believe that most diggers haven't heard of this before now.
- Shroomie, on 08/02/2008, -0/+3This isn't old at all...
- FLAESHAL, on 08/02/2008, -0/+7Let's say that caffeine does absorb through your skin very easily
this bar of soap still only has 200mg of caffeine a cup of coffee has about 100mg, to get a whole cups worth in you you'd still have to wash yourself with half the bar of soap which I'm sure nobody sane does.- druakara, on 08/02/2008, -1/+0uh - it's not intended as a coffee/tea/soda/energy drink replacement - it's intended as a supplemental dose of caffeine to keep you going. Just like Penguin mints and Jolt Gum (and other such caffeinated candies)
- skoubydoo, on 08/02/2008, -0/+2Just don't give it to someone with OCD.
- prometheanspark, on 08/02/2008, -0/+5May also be used as a suppository...
- Dunge, on 08/02/2008, -1/+1Old? It's in UltimateBet store since a while..
- mudgie, on 08/02/2008, -0/+3Just drink coffee in the shower like a normal person.
- Klietz, on 08/02/2008, -0/+0this has been out for like 5 years now. really digg?

- uthallan, on 08/02/2008, -0/+2This has been on Think Geek for years, and this trendhunter.com looks like an online sharper images place...but *****.
- gak001, on 08/02/2008, -0/+9OMG, you discovered ThinkGeek.com!!!!1!1!! Congratu-*****-lations and welcome to 2001. This is not a trend, and I'm sorry to get all pretentious about it, but this is why digg sucks right now. I'm about two more ***** ***** stories away from leaving digg. I've already had several friends leave.
What happened to the intellectual debate? What happened to people bringing interesting and diverse experiences and ideas to the table? With apologies to the submitter, but when did digg become overpopulated with a bunch of 4chan rejects and 14 year olds discovering the internet?
I guess it's just the beer and wine talking - pay me no mind. - HanSolo69, on 08/02/2008, -0/+4This has been on Think Geek for years.
- clsslc, on 08/02/2008, -0/+1Yeah, ThinkGeek.com has been stocking it since like 2003. If you buy some, you should buy from ThinkGeek, not some random magazine.
